    Trace Mineral Nutrition

Trace minerals are required in small quantities in the diet of poultry. However they are indispensable for the birds as they are vital for health, immunity and production performance.

Improved genetic potential, higher performance and stress factors increase the requirement of minerals. During digestion process the minerals available in feed encounter interruption and interaction by other feed ingredients and substances which negatively affect the bioavailability of minerals. Hence protected trace minerals with high bioavailability are essential to deliver the nutrients required by the birds.

    Protected Trace Minerals

Mineral utilization by birds primarily depends of their absorption from the ingested feed. Minerals are subjected to interaction with other feed ingredients including other minerals which greatly influence the bioavailability of minerals. Protection of minerals through chelation process ensures higher bioavailability of minerals and avoids unnecessary loss.

    Proteinate Chelates

Proteinate chelates are one of the best ways to ensure maximum bioavailability of minerals in the living system. The trace minerals are protected by organic ligands to escape the undesirable external interactions. The ligand binds the mineral at more than one point to form a heterocyclic ring such that the mineral becomes part of a ring. The ligands form co-ordinate covalent bonds with the minerals and avert the external influence of dietary and other substances which would negatively affect the absorption of the mineral.

    Prerequisites for Absorption

    Nature of the Ligand
Protection of Mineral with the formation of Bond between the mineral and the ligand
    Absorption of the chelate
Release of the mineral at the site of action

Amino acid and peptide chelates are absorbed efficiently, possibly because they are taken up by the peptide absorption mechanism rather than the active transport mechanism for minerals.

TramPac is an ideal way to supplement the poultry feed for optimal trace mineral requirements. TramPac ensures higher bioavailability of minerals and favours growth, production and immunity in birds.
